THE STORY SO FAR....
The Jimmy Clip was born out of a desire to tighten up one's Guitar tone without having to use tape or other makeshift devices on the Instrument.
Guitarist Jim Robbins was tired of putting Gaffer / fader tape on both his headstock and behind the
bridge of his Guitars to eliminate what he refers to as 'string ring'; that 'chime - like' sound artifact that goes on after the playing has stopped. This is cause by the vibration transferring through the 'after length' sections of the string. This is commonly encountered by high gain / de-tuned / 7 and 8 string Guitarists as well as more traditional Guitarists who utilize a more percussive playing style.
After years of Touring; recording; and working with other Guitarists and Engineers in the Industry; he realized he was far from alone in the ritual of silencing that sound. Inspiration hit.
He developed a Device / Technique called "The Jimmy Clip" to greatly reduce the 'string ring' without having to alter the actual Instrument. It makes Guitar performances sound 'tighter' and clearer. It's discreet; yet aesthetically pleasing; highly effective and easy to Install. In fact; it doesn't fasten onto the actual Instrument - only the strings; thus keeping the Instrument's original Integrity - and Value - intact.
After extensively researching and comparing all possible US Manufacturers; Alexander Trevino's company Midnight Motions was far and away the best choice to make The Jimmy Clip.
Alex's Engineering / Building skills; quality Craftsmanship; and attention to detail have manifested Jim's concept into it's physical equivalent.
The Jimmy Clip is made and assembled in the USA; and uses US Steel and US workers.
